Text messages show teacher wanted love, student wanted car

Money can't buy me love...

TAMPA — In March, Stephanie Ragusa sent a text message to a former middle school student, one of hundreds of messages the pair would trade.

"I loved today," she wrote, according to court documents released Thursday. "The sex was amazing."

The boy replied, "YES I KNOW!"

"I keep smiling about it thinking about it," she said. "U know. Those smiles u love to see and I only do around u!"

She depended on him in sickness: He told her to text him when she was throwing up. She thought of him even in the possibility of her death: She bequeathed a portion of her life insurance to him.

Her handwritten will and the text message records were included in pages of discovery material prosecutors released.

The evidence portrays Ragusa as a woman trying to prod a sometimes angry teen into an adult relationship. She talked about planning romantic dates and having heart-to-heart talks. He talked about the money she was going to give him for a car. And they both talked about sex.

"I love you. Hurry back. Miss u already," Ragusa said in a March 1 text message.

"I JUST left calm down," the boy responded 35 seconds later.

Ragusa, 29, has been charged with having sex with two male students at Davidsen Middle School. She has been in jail since April 28 after detectives caught her leaving the home of a prior victim, her third arrest on sex charges since March.

The material released Thursday relates to just one victim, a boy who turned 16 while Ragusa had an alleged relationship with him. Investigators have DNA from the boy, Ragusa and a T-shirt, records show. The boy told detectives the two had sex more than 100 times after meeting in February 2007 at school. Ragusa wrote the boy's parents a memo on school district letterhead saying he had been selected for mentoring.

On March 2, Ragusa sent the teen a text wanting to meet up.

Ragusa: "Lets try to do something romantic, different."

More salacious details here.

TAMPA — Former Hillsborough County middle school teacher Stephanie Ragusa sent a text message to the boy to say she was freaking out because the Hillsborough County School District’s office of professional standards kept calling her.

Hours later, though, she sent him another message. She wanted to let him know how good the sex had been between them that day. He agreed, and she messaged him back.

“I love that u can change my whole mood,” she wrote. “Bring me up when I feel down. Its magical.”

The conversations were included among hundreds of pages of discovery documents released Thursday by the State Attorney’s Office. The documents also include Ragusa’s last will and testament, in which she addresses the same student.

Ragusa is in Falkenburg Road Jail, accused of having sex with two students. She declined to comment Thursday.

According to the documents, the evidence against her includes a love letter addressed by Ragusa, the will, DNA test results, a Christmas card and key chain given to a student by Ragusa, text messages and a cell phone video of Ragusa kissing a student on April 28.

“Please finish school,” Ragusa wrote to the boy in the will. “I cannot believe how lucky I was to have met you. Deep down, you are so warm + caring. Meet your potential.” ...

Midde School Teacher Arrested For Affair With Student

A Brazos Middle School teacher turned herself in to Waco police Wednesday morning after allegedly having a sexual relationship with one of her students.

Warrants had been issued for 26 year old Tara Allison Hodges of Katy for Sexual Assault of a Child and Improper Relationship Between Educator and Student.

The investigation into the alleged relationship started after the 26 year old teacher filed a false report of a sexual assault.

Waco police say detectives then found that Hodges had been involved in a sexual relationship with a 14 year-old student while she was employed as a teacher for Waco I.S.D.

According to the arrest affidavit, the relationship started on June 6, 2008. The affidavit says Hodges picked the victim up in her car that evening, drove him to her apartment, and then the two smoked marijuana. After that Hodges allegedly performed oral sex on the student before having sex with him.

The two had sex at least ten separate times, and during several of these times they smoked marijuana, the affidavit says.

South Lake teacher charged, said to have fondled students

Partygoers say she fondled 2 students

A South Lake High School teacher is accused of fondling two male students while hanging out with a group of teenagers on a boat belonging to the parents of a former student.

Melissa Lavender, 33, was arraigned Wednesday on two charges of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct. She is suspended from her job of 6 years as a culinary arts teacher, said her lawyer, Michael Dennis.

St. Clair Shores Police Detective Harold Bergeron said a teen who witnessed the June 26 sex acts came forward last week.

Police interviewed the partygoers -- three females and five males, several of whom were teenagers -- who said they drank alcohol with the teacher and saw her inappropriately touch two current students, ages 16 and 17. The boat was docked in a St. Clair Shores marina, Bergeron said.

Michigan's age of consent is 16, but a state statute makes it illegal for a teacher to engage in sex acts with a student, no matter the student's age.

The charges are misdemeanors punishable by up to two years in prison.

Brandy Lynn Gonzales pleads guilty to sex crimes

Couple plead guilty to sexually abusing school children

Instead of going to trial Monday, a Piney Point Elementary fifth-grade teacher and her husband pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting school children and decided to let the judge determine their fate after a pre-sentence investigation.

Brandy Lynn Gonzales, 28, sobbed quietly as she pleaded guilty to four counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child and one count of indecency with a child.

She faces a possible punishment of five to 99 years or life in prison when state District Judge Michael McSpadden sentences her in October.

Prosecutors said Gonzales lured five boys from her classes into sexual acts at movie theaters, her apartment and even her classroom.

At least one student was taken to her apartment, where he was sexually assaulted by Gonzales and her husband, Johnny Ray Gonzales, 33, said Assistant Harris County District Attorney Denise Oncken.

Ex-Brevard teacher faces 25 felonies

BY KEYONNA SUMMERS • FLORIDA TODAY

Prosecutors this week formally charged a former Brevard County teacher with 25 felonies and two misdemeanors in connection with a series of alleged sexual trysts with two students.

Adrienne Laflamme, 60, is being held at the Brevard County jail without bond on charges that she had sex with a 17-year-old male student soon after his release from the Juvenile Detention Center in Sharpes, where she taught science for about eight years.

Laflamme resigned from her teaching position July 14, a schools spokesman said.

Originally arrested on 15 counts of unlawful sex with a minor, prosecutors added five additional counts of unlawful sex with the teen and charged Laflamme with lewd and lascivious conduct, exhibition, battery and molestation of a 14-year-old she allegedly engaged in a threesome with herself and the older boy.

Keri Ann Brekne pleads guilty to sex assault on student

Warren County teacher pleads guilty to sex assault on student

by Mike Frassinelli/The Star-Ledger
Thursday July 31, 2008, 3:04 PM

Already facing up to 50 years in prison in Pennsylvania, Warren County teacher Keri Ann Brekne now faces up to a decade behind bars in New Jersey after pleading guilty today to a charge that she sexually assaulted one of her female students.

Lopatcong Township Middle School teacher Brekne, 28, pleaded guilty in Warren County today to a second-degree sexual assault charge. Earlier this month, she pleaded guilty in Pennsylvania to five counts of aggravated indecent assault that each carry penalties of between 22 months and 10 years in prison.

Prosecutors say Brekne systematically befriended the then-14-year-old student and her parents before sexually assaulting the girl between June 2007 and January 2008 in the teacher's vehicle in New Jersey and at the teacher's home in Bethlehem, Pa.

The teacher showered the student with gifts, told her that her friends weren't good enough for her and, after the student's parents made her turn in her cell phone at the end of each day, bought the girl a "secret cell phone" so she could text her late into the night, prosecutors said.
